Coghill was a partner in Conch House Builders, a company that was going to develop a waterfront marina here in St. Augustine. He put the word out that they were seeking a short term loan while "financing was coming through" He offered to secure the loan with the deed to a 50' boat slip signed by the owner of the property. It all seemed to be on the up and up. The owner of the property and his family are all honorable people so we weren't worried. The problem is that the documents securing the boat slip were forged. We're lucky in that the owner ( as I said is an honorable person ) has offered to make good on the debt once they sort out their situation. They were forced into bankruptcy on a multimillion $ property due to Coghill's scam.

He is a classic scam artist, promising good returns and backs it up with seemingly solid paper. I always thought that I was too smart to be ripped off. Turns out that I got scammed. I hope Coghill gets what is coming to him someday.
